National Adoption Awareness Program

The National Adoption Awareness Program provides information to birth families who may be seeking alternatives to parenting as they prepare for the arrival of their child. Making an adoption plan for a child with Down syndrome is a loving choice and can be the right choice for some families. Learn more

Outreach and Public Awareness

Boys baseballThe purpose of the DSAGC Outreach Program is to increase community awareness of the capabilities and unique contributions of individuals with Down syndrome. There are three major target audiences for these outreach efforts: educators, healthcare providers and the general public. Learn more

Community Participation Fund

The DSAGC is pleased to have been awarded $2,500 to support families who wish to enroll their children with Down syndrome under 18, in inclusive social or recreational opportunities. The CVS Community Participation Fund will provide up to $200.00 per family per year to help pay for costs related to activities such as Boy/Girl Scouts, Gymboree, ballet, swimming, dance, etc. These activities must be open to all children with and without disabilities. CVS believes that these inclusive efforts will help to create a society that accepts and values all citizens in every aspect of community life. Well Wishes

Personal visits, get well cards and gifts are all available to families whose children are hospitalized or recuperating at home following surgery or illness. Contact Martha with any requests.

Sibling Support

Contact the DSAGC to receive a Sibling Packet. This packet contains a coloring book, games and activities and a list of books available for siblings in our Lending Library. Designed for siblings ages 8 to 12. Please contact Martha for more information regarding any support groups.
