In 1996, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati held its first golf tournament - The Gus Bell Memorial - in honor of legendary Reds player, Gus Bell, grandfather of Traci who was born with Down syndrome.  This successful tournament ran for 11 years with Joyce Bell Dolle serving as honorary chairperson. After the Bell family retired, tournament chairperson Ty Steele spoke with Tom Gregory of Montgomery Inn about continuing the tournament with a new host. Tom suggested Dave Lapham and, without hesitation, Dave graciously came on board.

Dave is a former Bengal and well-known color analyst for Bengals radio. Dave has brought tremendous enthusiasm to the tournament along with countless golfers, sponsors, auction items - and a lot of great football stories! We want to thank Dave for his continued support and dedication not only to this tournament, but also to our organization and mission.
