EARLY MATTERS PROGRAM

The goal of this program is to provide education for parents and family members of children age’s birth to five on several aspects of raising a child with Down syndrome. The DSAGC strives to assist family members, educators and the community in helping individuals with Down syndrome to reach their maximum potential. Guest speakers discuss topics related to raising a child with Down syndrome such as gross and fine motor development, speech and language development, medical concerns and toddler behavior. This series of coordinated meetings provides parents the opportunity to learn from area professionals who are experts in their field. The meetings also include opportunities for families to share and support one another. These meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month and free childcare is also provided.
