OUTREACH PROGRAM

The DSAGC receives many requests for public speakers. These requests come from groups such as, labor and delivery nurses, social workers, medical programs, universities, elementary schools, vocational programs, and civic organizations. The DSAGC responds to these requests by providing volunteer speakers and staff who have been trained in public speaking skills. The goal of this program is to provide current and accurate information on Down syndrome by increasing community awareness of the capabilities and unique contributions of individuals with Down syndrome. Another objective of this program is to eradicate the commonly held misconceptions and preconceived notions regarding the capabilities of individuals with Down syndrome.
