Information Packets for Professionals

Hospital Packet – This packet is distributed to 40 area hospitals, special care nurseries, perinatal care programs, and geneticists. It provides an introduction to Down syndrome for new parents. Sensitive, yet informative, this packet includes information on medical issues, breastfeeding and an invitation to connect with other new families who can provide support.

Teacher Packet – This packet contains information to assist teachers in accommodating the needs of students with Down syndrome. It includes a copy of our bi-annual newsletter for educators, "Strategies For Success", a booklet of helpful information to assist in supporting your student in the classroom, suggestions for adapting curriculum, "Getting To Know Me" booklet to help families introduce their child to a new teacher, and suggestions for helping students in their social relationships.

Pediatrician Packet – This packet is sent to the pediatrician of a child with Down syndrome. It provides information that should be placed in the child's medical file. The packet includes the medical checklist, specialized growth charts and general information on Down syndrome.

General Information Packet – This packet provides information on the DSAGC, as well as up-to-date and accurate information on Down syndrome. Students commonly access this packet.
