Social Events in the community allow for adults with Down syndrome to come together to share common interests and establish relationships.
Adults with Down syndrome provide valuable in-kind volunteer hours by processing DSAGC mailings, writing Get Well cards, and supporting DSAGC events.
Mary Cook from A-Marika Dance Studios in Sharonville offers free ballroom dancing lessons on a weekly basis for adults with Down syndrome. Visit www.a-marika.com for more information about the dance studio.
This unique, community website gives adults with Down syndrome a safe venue to chat, visit, and learn about each other’s interests so friendships can develop. The primary goal of the website is to increase social support and inclusion in the community in order to decrease the social isolation identified by adults with Down syndrome.
Friendship Network users can log on to chat with friends in the chat room, on the message board, or by sending private messages. You also have the opportunity to meet other individuals with Down syndrome from all over the country!
If you do not already have a Friendship Network account, you will want to sign up for an account right away! Read more
