School Age Support

  • One on One IEP Support provides families education and resources as they advocate for their child at Individual Education Planning meetings. Email Molly
  • Parent to Parent Mentor Program matches school age families with a mentor family who can offer the advice and guidance which is so vital in learning about school. Email Molly
  • Teen Clubs give teens ages 13-17 an opportunity to develop social relationships and enjoy each other’s companies. Contact Molly
  • Buddy Clubs both in Kentucky and Ohio led by family volunteers, offers 7-12 year olds and their families a chance to connect with those in their neighborhood. Email Molly
  • Parent Email Network
    Rely on the knowledge of the parents that have been in your position. Post a question and everyone in the network may respond with their experience.

  • Dual diagnosis Support Group
    An group of parents of kids with Down syndrome and autism are available to share resources, ideas and support. Download the Meet and Greet Form.
  • Grandparents Group – two volunteer-led groups that serve Ohio and Kentucky focus on the needs of grandparents and include 70 people who meet quarterly to eat, talk, share photos and listen to a speaker. Please contact us for more information and a grandparent’s packet. Email Martha
  • Single Parent Group – this group meets every other month and includes single parents and their children for socialization and peer support. Email Martha
  • Well Wishes
    Personal visits, get well cards and gifts are all available to families whose children are hospitalized or recuperating at home following surgery or illness. Email Molly
  • Sibling Support
    This packet contains a coloring book, games and activities and a list of books available for siblings in our Lending Library. Designed for siblings ages 8 to 12. Email Molly
  • Community Participation Scholarship Fund (CPF) provides financial assistance to individuals with Down syndrome so that they may participate in 1) activities such as classes, camps, organized sports, conferences, etc…2) therapies including PT, OT, Speech. We also provide financial assistance for family members who would like to attend local, regional, or national conferences, seminars or training sessions that address issues pertaining to Down syndrome and other related topics. We will award up to $200 per individual/$400 per family per year.
