Cheerleading

We’d love for you to be a part of our DSAGC Cheerleading program! Our cheer squad is open to anyone in grades K – 12. Each cheerleader receives a uniform and pompoms. Our squads have practices in October/November timeframe where they learn a custom dance routine. Then, the squad will have dozens of opportunities to perform throughout winter. Cheerleaders are required to attend practices, but not required to attend every performance. We have multiple performances, so families can attend ones that fit their schedules best.

Typically, we perform at halftime of high school basketball games alongside the high school cheerleading squad. However, we’ve also performed at colleges, minor league baseball games, talent shows, and more! We’ve even partnered with the Cincinnati Ben-Gals for a special night. The dates and times of these performances will be released by the coaches after practices (as this takes a lot of time to coordinate each year). We try to schedule performances in the schools / districts / neighborhoods of our cheerleaders. Be sure to fill out that section of the registration, so we can try to work with your school’s athletic department!

Our Cheerleading program continues to grow each year – we have over 50 cheerleaders! This program provides a dynamic experience to empower individuals with Down syndrome to SHINE. Through tailored routines and a supportive environment, participants gain confidence, build meaningful relationships, and develop important life skills. For many, cheerleading becomes more than just an activity—it’s a source of joy, empowerment, and a celebration of their abilities!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Support and Independence

Ages: 13 - 18
Dates: Thursday, November 6 (parent session) + Thursday, November 13 (parent & teen)
Time & Location: 11/6 = 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm on ZOOM + 11/13 = 5:00 – 6:30 pm at DSAGC
Cost: FREE
Description: This interactive training introduces parents and teens to AI tools that can assist with learning, organization, and communication. Parents will explore AI-assisted resources and create a personalized chatbot for their child to use while students will gain hands-on experience using AI for self-support and daily tasks.

chatbot is like a digital helper you can have a conversation with via voice or typing. It’s a computer program that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to understand you and respond like a human would. You can ask it questions, get help with tasks, or even just chat with it like you would with a real person. Think of it like texting with someone who’s always available and has access to a ton of information. It doesn’t think for itself, but it’s trained to recognize patterns in language so it can respond in helpful ways. Parents will not need any special equipment other than a computer.

The goal is to give every teen access to a helpful assistant that’s there whenever they need it —whether it’s for academic support, planning their day, or managing emotions.

Find Your Way™

Our Find Your Way™ program offers FOUR different retreat experiences focused on independent living. In addition to the retreats, we offer life skills classes throughout the year to practice and strengthen the skills learned at the retreats.

At the beginning of each year, we open enrollment for the Find Your Way™ program. Families who choose to enroll will meet with our adult coordinators for a “consultation”. Individuals with Down syndrome, parents/caregivers, and our adult coordinators will work together to determine which of the four programs would be most beneficial for the coming year.
