Program Overview - Winter 2026

Our programs focus on therapeutic, recreational, educational, and social opportunities for all ages and stages. We tailor our offerings to reflect the need of our local families as we strive to provide valuable support and quality programs for those in our community.

Registration and Cancellation Policy: Our programs are designed with care and purpose - most are offered free or at low-cost, so that every family can participate. Each one takes significant time, planning, and funding to make happen. When someone registers but doesn't attend, it not only affects the program's cost but also means another family may miss out on the experience. We understand that life happens! If your plans change, we simply ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Your communication helps us be good stewards of our resources and continue offering meaningful opportunities for all.

Early Matters Programs: ages 0 - 5

Strong Swimmers, Confident Kids - INFANT

Ages: 6 months – 2 years
Dates: Saturdays (January 10 – February 28)
Time: 10:45 am -11:15 am
Location: Campbell County YMCA - 1437 S Ft Thomas Ave, Fort Thomas, KY 41075
Cost: $20
Description: The goal of this program is to equip both parents and swimmers with essential water-safety skills for in and around aquatic environments. These lessons follow the YMCA Swim Lesson program design, with a strong focus on safety practices such as safe pool entry and exit, asking permission before entering the water, blowing bubbles and parent-guided submersion, front and back floats, and the “reach, throw, don’t go” rescue technique. We’ll incorporate songs and games throughout each class to introduce and reinforce these early swimming skills in a fun, supportive way.

Parents and swimmers only need to bring a swimsuit and towel. If a swimmer is not potty-trained, a swim diaper is required. The YMCA will provide all safety and instructional equipment.

Parents will participate in the water alongside their child. For preschool-age swimmers, an assessment will be completed during week three to determine whether the remaining classes can be safely completed unassisted.
