We are dedicated to working collaboratively with schools and families to foster a positive learning environment for students with Down syndrome.
Educational Services for Schools
All of these services are provided free of charge.
- Peer Presentations - customized presentations to enhance classmates understanding of Down syndrome
- Staff / Faculty Trainings - training topics include learning strategies, behavioral interventions, IEP breakdowns for students with Down syndrome, and more
- IEP Assistance – we work individually with parents and school teams to review and make recommendations on the student's IEP.
- School and/or Behavior Liaison – we are available to attend school or behavior meetings as a liaison to advocate for the student's best interest.
- Observations & problem solving - we can observe students in their classroom and work with school teams to aid in student success.
- Homeschool Group - Our homeschool group offers support and connection for local DSAGC families who homeschool. The group offers numerous meetups for learning and social opportunities.
- Ongoing Programs – Our programs focus on therapeutic, recreational, educational, and social opportunities for all ages and stages. We tailor our offerings to reflect the need of our local families as we strive to provide valuable support and quality programs for those in our community. www.dsagc.com/programs.

Joanie Elfers, School Age Matters Coordinator - Joanie has expertise in a variety of school topics. At no charge to families, she is available to attend school meetings, assist in IEP planning and work with educational professionals to achieve a desired goal.
Molly Blaker, Outreach Coordinator - Molly engages with schools to provide valuable information, create connections, and expand the impact of our work and support. She is available to do "Peer Presentations" in the classroom setting to enhance the students and teachers understanding of Down syndrome.
