Thomas Center for Down Syndrome
The Jane and Richard Thomas Center for Down Syndrome is part of the Division of Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The Center conducts ongoing research and offers interdisciplinary evaluations and interventions for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with Down syndrome. They offer assessments by experts in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, speech/language pathology, social work, feeding, occupational and physical therapy, psychology and special education.

Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The opening of the Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at UC Health is a wonderful new addition in our community. It will provide quality, coordinated, patient-centered care for adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities in addition to training medical students and residents.

First Steps

First Steps is Kentucky's statewide early intervention system that provides services to children with developmental disabilities from birth to age 3 and their families. First Steps is Kentucky's response to the federal Infant-Toddler Program. First Steps offers comprehensive services through a variety of community agencies and service disciplines and is administered by the Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Cincinnati Center for Autism supports individuals with autism and their families through programming in the areas of academics, adaptive behavior, communication, and social participation.

Cincinnati Occupational Therapy Institute (COTI) 

COTI specializes in sensory integration and works with individuals, children and adults, with sensory processing disorder or other related problems including gross motor and fine motor problems, handwriting problems, difficulties with activities of daily living, sensory modulation disorders, behavior issues, self-regulation problems, and difficulties with attachment.  Camp OdakOTa is for children who are 6-12 years old and who have sensory processing disorder or related problems.

Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding & Horsemanship 

The mission of Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship (CTRH) is to serve children and adults with disabilities by helping them lead happier, healthier lives through participation in our equine-assisted activities and therapies including adaptive recreational horseback riding, hippotherapy, and equine facilitated learning.  CTRH is committed to the principle that individuals with disabilities are entitled to the same opportunities and rights as their non-disabled peers.

Council on Aging
Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. We promote choice, independence, dignity and well-being through a range of services that help people remain in their homes for as long as possible.

Easter Seals Tristate 
Easter Seals provides services to help children and adults with disabilities and/or special needs as well as support to their families.  They provide top-quality, innovative services tailored to meet the specific needs of the people they serve.  Some types of services provided are employment and training, adult services, autism services, children’s services, medical rehabilitation, etc.

Envision
Envision provides a variety of services to support individuals with disabilities who have histories of mental health issues, trauma, or behavior concerns.  They currently serve more than 450 children and adults each year and have been a trusted resource for families for over 50 years.

Pets for Patients

Pets for Patients assesses and matches rescue pets (either cats or dogs) with children receiving treatment referred to us by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC).

PLAN of Southwest Ohio 

PLAN of Southwest Ohio's objective is to step in where families do in terms of coordinating care and assisting individuals over their lifetimes. PLAN hopes to become a sort of surrogate family member for people with disabilities over their lifetime.

Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action

Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action started as a conference bringing together outstanding leadership from Down syndrome organizations around the country. After consecutive years of explosive growth, the conference has extended its reach internationally and is now a 501c3 nonprofit trade association continuing its mission:  to support and advance the growth and service capabilities of the local and regional Down syndrome organizations we serve, to be the conduit of value-driven training, programs, best practices and support for our members.

Global Down Syndrome Foundation
The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through Research, Medical care, Education and Advocacy. Formally established in 2009, the Foundation's primary focus is to support the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome, the first academic home in the United States committed solely to research and medical care for people with Down syndrome. Since Down syndrome is the least-funded genetic condition in the United States, fundraising and government advocacy to correct the alarming disparity of national funding for people with Down syndrome is a major goal.

National Down Syndrome Congress
It is the mission of the National Down Syndrome Congress to be the national advocacy organization for Down syndrome and to provide leadership in all areas of concern related to persons with Down syndrome. In that capacity, NDSC will function as a major source of support and empowerment to persons with Down syndrome and their families.

National Down Syndrome Society
The National Down Syndrome Society supports young researchers seeking the causes of, and answers to, many of the medical, genetic, behavioral and learning problems associated with Down syndrome; sponsors internationally renowned scientific symposia; advocates on behalf of families and individuals affected by this condition; provides information and referral services through its toll-free number; and develops educational materials, many of which are distributed free of charge.
